Enchanted Fairy Forest at The Tropical Butterfly House
27th May 2017 to 4th June 2017 - 10am - 5.30pm
Running out of ideas to entertain the little ones? The Tropical Butterfly House run themed events throughout the year. Starting in May there will be an enchanted fairy forest - discover tiny pixie dwellings and fairy hideaways, take part in fairy crafts, activities and games. For all ages!
British Museum Treasures at Jorvik
Jorvik Viking Centre are doing a special 3 year collaboration with The British Museum which includes treasures from the Halton Moor Hoard, coins of Canute as king of both England and Denmark, and a unique die, used to strike coins towards the end of his reign. Weaponry, including spearheads and a ‘pattern-welded’ sword found near Windsor will also be on display, with axe heads and stirrups of the kind used by Vikings when travelling over land on horseback. Delicious Doncaster Food and Drink Festival
12 May - 14 May
Prepare your taste buds for a treat! Over three days from Friday 12th May to Sunday 14th May, the town centre will play host to ‘Delicious Doncaster Food and Drink Festival’, featuring entertainment, activities and over 50 providers of hot street food and artisan products. One of the star attractions of the weekend will be an appearance by multi-Michelin star award winning TV chef Jean-Christophe Novelli.
Sheep Shearing at Cannon Hall Farm
April 29th - May 1st
Come along to an interesting day at Cannon Hall Farm to see shearing demonstrations, cuddly new lambs and daily sheep talks. Have fun on the farm, visit the animals, amazing play areas and milking demonstrations, sheep and ferret racing and tractor rides, plus meerkat feeding sessions and Shire horse talks!
